Fail to retrieve parameter "Windows Name"

Thread needs solution

I had backup a Win2000 server and restored to a new hardware server with Universal Restore option. After that, I install the the Acronis Backup Restore v11345. Everything is working fine including backup and store. However, the connection to the Console will be lost after 1 or 2 days automatically. I can't reconnect it no matter what I am doing including re-start the Acronis services. I can only reboot the whole server to resume the connection to the Acronis console. Whenever the console connection lost, it will prompt the following error
1. Code 0x500001
- Failed to retrieve parameter "Windows Name"
2. 0x1403EC
- WMI "Connect Server"faliure
3. 0xFFF0
- The RPC server is too busy to complete this operation

Anyone can advise what is going on ?

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. 
The issue can have several reasons. First of all, please run Acronis scheduler manager  and issue the following command:
task zap
After that please download Acronis scheduler, which is a special utility to update the scheduler service. 

Extract the downloaded file, run install.bat and wait for the process to be completed. The utility will automatically update the service. Reboot the computer and re-create the tasks and let us know the results.

Where can I download the "Acronis Scheduler" ? By the way, your instructure for run Acronis scheduler manager, does it mean run the "schedmge.exe" ?

To download Acronis Scheduler please click on the active link: scheduler.

Here are the instructions on how to use Acronis scheduler manager:

- Please download the schedmgr.exe file and save it to C drive (C:\schedmgr);
- Start -> Run -> Type "cmd" command (without quotas);
- Downgrade the path to C:\. You should type "cd.." command (without quotas). Enter;
- Run the following command:
schedmgr task zap (it will be C:\>schedmgr task zap).
Hit Enter.

Hi Oleg,
I had download the zip file and save it into d:\temp\acronis. I go to command prompt "c:\" and run "schedmgr task zap", it return "ok". I then go back to d:\temp\acronis and run the "install.bat". The follow result return

1 file (s) copied
'sc' is not recognized as an internal operable program or batch file external error
*** done ***
The Acronis Manager Service cannot even start in Windows Service, any mistake I make. By the way, I install the Acronis software v11345 in d:\Program files\acronis, will it be impact, or I jus need to update the "schedmgr.exe" from your zip file, please advise.

Hi Oleg,
I had tried few times and still no success. I found that after I replace the "schedmgr.exe" file, the "Acronis Managed Machine Service" in Windows Services even cannot start. I try to fall back to the original file and reboot the machine, it is still not running, am I miss anything ?

One more information, I had not schedule any task in our schedule backup plan. The siutation (Cnnot login to the console after 1 or 2 days) is still the same, I guess it may not relate to the "Schedule Management Tool".

In additional, I read the case 6077 and suspect I fall in this situation. I am using x11345 on Win2000 standard server.

Please reinstall Acronis Agent and see if the issue remains. By the way, we expect a new build release very soon, therefore, please download the newest build after its' release and reinstall the components from the scratch.

Dear Oleg,
Thanks for your reply. Actually, I just install it few days ago and afterward, no more installation and configuration change applied on the system. May I know when the new release target to launch as our project will be launch next weekend. Once it is on production, it will be very difficult to do troubleshooting, installing new patch, updating release or change the configuration as we may not allow to reboot the system during dat time.
