Issues with adding machines to AMS

I'm currently trying to organise and fix a badly setup Backup & Recovery situation. The virtual servers are all clones from a template and already have the Acronis client installed on them this appears to be causing a problem. I have already followed both

The issue however is slightly different. When adding a machine to AMS it goes through the "Creating a Trust relationship" and "Adding the machine" it seems to complete just fine but looks like the attached image. the machine does not display a name. When you click refresh it just disappears. I have changed the MachineID in the registry and deleted the contents of the MMS folder. It still displays like this. If you then try to readd it you get "machine already registered" I can use the delete machines script to remove it.

I have to admit i'm a little stuck now on how to get these machines added.

Any assistance would be greatly apprciated.
