Laptop slow during backup

Hello,

I was hoping someone could give me a tip as to how to lessen the hard drive activity on the laptop hard drive as it does the backup (dedupe). I realize backups are a hard drive intensive activity, but I was hoping to find a way to perhaps slow down the process a bit to give the hard drive time to do work the user wants to do (browsing, opening files...). Due to the way we are using this software, it can't be used when the users are away, as they bring their laptops home with them and turn them off every night.

I know there are some default options, but they only take into account the Destination hard drive. As a side note, I have compression to Normal. Would no compression at all help, or is it more cpu intensive and not much in the way of hard drive grinding?
