Logon failure on restored drive

Thread needs solution

I have an interesting problem. I am using Acronis Workstation on a Windows XP system. I backed up the original HD onto a USB HD. No problems. then original HD failed. I procured an identical new drive and restored. Restore process said completed.
When I boot the new disk I can not logon. I type my original name and password. An error message comes up that says the system could not logon to the server. I am stuck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The issue you are experiencing is rather strange. 

Make sure you specify a fully qualified domain name and provide the credentials in the domain\username format.

Probably, the issue is related to the secure setting of your system. Have you set the password to be changed?  When exactly have you created the archive? Is your system in a domain? Have you tried to recover the archive again?
