.meta folder lost after HDD crash: Now can't delete personal and central vault on local machine

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I lost my Image backup drive with the Images and the .meta folders on it due to a HDD crash.
Luckily on that drive only little relevant backups were stored.

But now I have the issue that ABR10 let me delete the centralized vault entry via the Management Server, BUT:
a) on the local machine the centralized vault still appears and I can not delete it. I get only a message "error while opening file". Not even a button to try to remove it.
b) on the local machine also the personal/local vaults are un-deletable. There the message says "Opening the Metadata directory failed". And if I click on the "delete" icon I get an "error while delete the vault" with specifics: Code 4.194.944 ... mms.exe opening metadata dir failed.; code 4.194.318 opening backup saving-location failed.; code 262.151 error while opening file; code 65.520 the system can not find the path specified.

How can I get rid of these obsolete entries now?

Hello RiffRaff,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely resolve this for you.

Please make sure you are using the latest build of our software. The current one at the moment is 11639. Deleting personal vaults can be done in 2 ways. When you press to delete the selected vault you will be prompted by a message to either keep or delete backup archives. If you select to keep them, you will then be able to delete the vault. Or, you can recreate the folder, giving in the same vault name, make sure the external hard drive letter is the same, then you will be able to delete it also.

For centralized vaults, please use this article for instructions, there is a special script that can be used to accomplish your goal.

If you are still facing issues with this problem, please contact our support directly and we will be able to resolve these issues.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.
