mvBase TELNET

Thread needs solution

Acronis for Advanced Server, the backup task works as the following.

Full once, incremental every 2 hours, differential every 1 week.

There's a telnet service on the server called mvBase, the clients telnets remotely on this server.

Each 3 ~ 4 days we discover that the telnet is no longer works on the server, we have to restart the server to telnet successfully again.

The backup tasks works fine, trying using VSS snapshot and without snapshot same problem occurs always.

Once we stop the backup tasks, there's no problem on the telnet service on the server anymore since 2 weeks.

Once we starts the backup tasks again, same problem!!!!!

Attached is the system info.

Hello Mohammad Al-Qurashi,

Thank you very much for bringing up this issue. I will do my best to assist you.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to determine the exact cause of the telnet application malfunction. There could be compatibility issues between our software and the telnet utility, or an issue related to specific ports being in use. Usually, problems with incompatible software are resolved from the side of the software that is malfunctioning, that is why I believe it will be difficult to resolve this from our side. If, for example, our software was not working properly because of a specific software, then we would definitely try our best to resolve any issues with that.

Also, from my experience, creating one full backup and then running incrementals every 2 hours and then 1 differential every week is not very reliable. If, for some reason, you lose the full backup or one of the incrementals, the whole chain after it will be unusable.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
