Need Help in Restoring TI 11 Home

Thread needs solution

My hard drive crashed on my laptop. I had made backed up an image of the two disks (RAID-0: NOT used as a RAID mirror configuration). I'm out of the U.S. for an extended period. I am NOT a computer expert. I can't find a computer expert where I am who can read the English instructions.

After reading an article on Acronis website, I first installed Windows on the new hard drive (and the other hard drive, which is fine). The manual from Acronis for the TI 11 Home also said to install Windows before restoring the imaged programs/data that I'd saved to an external hard drive with Acronis TI 11 Home.

Question 1: I don't see detailed instructions in the TI 11 Home user manual from Acronis website for restoring the imaged programs/data. Can anyone please point me to instructions?

Question 2: In particular, how do I get Acronis to start working on the hard drive(s) before restoring from EHD? The manual says that it holds TI 11 Home in RAM, but I don't know how to get to that point.

Question 3: (Related to Question 2). Even though I reinstalled Windows, do I still use the Acronis (CD) boot media to get Acronis working?

I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

You do not need to install windows "IF" you made an image backup. If you only backed up the files (not the best/smartest way to go) then you would need to install windows and Acronis to restore files. TI 11 is a good product, whatever Acronis did after that slid downhill IMHO. Did you make an image backup of your HD? If so you "should" have created a bootable CD at that time as well... then just put the cd in, boot into an odd Linux type version of an O.S that is on the cd and restore to the HD, remove the cd and boot it normally and everything works.

Thanks, Dennis.

Yes, I did make an image backup of my HD. And, yes, I did create a bootable CD...although not at the time I made the image backup.

Here's what I don't remember doing: Creating a Secure Zone. If the program prompted me to do that when I first started using Acronis, I would have done it. I've been using TI 11 for two years or so. I can't remember whether I created that Secure Zone.

Is there anything I can do now to overcome a problem that might occur if I did NOT create a Secure Zone?

Thanks

sound like you have everything you need.
secure zone not needed.
your bootable cd is fine.
the PDF files of items 7a and 7b contains step by step instructions of everything you will need.
