Old full backups are similar to latest full backup (?)

Thread needs solution

Greetings.
Very noob here. Please bear with me.

I have a 4 hours lapse, full, scheduled backup wich include two subdirectories. Both directories change often and eventually I may do also a manual full backup without changing any parameter in those cases when major changes occur.

When I want to restore to a previous backup, the first screen contains the latest archive which I don't want. Instead I select a TIB file with an older date/time. The current directories have been renamed, no problem with overwriting.

But what I get are always the latest files and data, even when I select TIBs various days old which I know positively should contain very different data. Again all backups are "full".

I need to understand what I am doing wrong.
What is an "archive" and what is a TIB file?

Please advise and thanks for your patience.

Hello Walter,

Thank you for your question, I will do my best to assist you. Please accept my apologies for the delay.

.tib is the extension used by Acronis for its backups. A tib file is the same as a backup file. An archive can contain either 1 or any number of backups. All of this relates only to Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. Older versions of the software created 1 backup archive which contained 1 backup file.

As for the dates and the latest files and data issue, would you be kind enough to create a screenshot of the menu so that we can have a more clear picture of what exactly is troubling you.

Please let me know if you need additional assistance.

Thank you.
