Post Command failure!

Thread needs solution

Hi There !

I read that this problem already solved. Am i missing something ? Or the fix was not released ?

(The two blocks on the picture just hide the machine name)

I tried it with batch file too, and it gives back the same result in aconris otherwise it works correctly.
in the Batch:
shutdown /s /m machinename

Sincerely,
Mike

Try using the batch file listed here. See if this helps.

Get it working from the command line and a batch file and then it will work from the post processing of TrueImage. I prefer to use a batch file as post processing so I can add the comments and time delay, etc.

Have your tried the syntax shown in the help section
-s -m \\computername (note the dash and the double backslash)

Is this machine being shutdown via a network?

Addendum:
My computer name is "Grovers-Turtle" and the batch file below works for me.

::start_timed-shutdown.bat

:: Your path to shutdown.exe may differ and require editing.
::
%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -f -m \\GROVERS-TURTLE -t 300 -C "SHUTDOWN in x seconds TO CANCEL the shutdown click start run and type \"shutdown -a\" (no quotes)"

i have the same problem....

Tried all of these batches and it aint works. (Same error message)

Any suggestions ?

Note that the error message is referring to a component not found. If your computer name the correct name for this version. What is the operating system. I seem to recall a German version needing a German name, for example.
What version of Acronis TrueImage are you using? Is it the English version?
What is the operatiing system?  Is these commands being issued from the computer or remotely.

Your first task is get the commands to work correctly from the command line interface. Until it works from the command line, it will not work in a batch or from inside Acronis.

Did you try pasting my example into a batch file and running my batch file but  using your computer name.
Does your batch file contain other parts beside the shutdown command?

I cannot reproduce your error exactly the same on my system even if I use a wrong computer name.

If this task is a scheduled task, be sure and include your Windows login name plus login password.

Hi there !

Op system: Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition

I am using the latest Advanced Backup and Recovery 10 with AMS management. 10.0.11133 English Version.( I configuring the backup policies in the AMS and that produces the problem).

The Comannds issued on the local machine. I created batch file and it works right if i start it manually. But if i want to start it after backup in acronis it fails by acronis with the component issue.

I tried copy paste your commands too and changed the computer name still the same issue.

The very intresting thing is when i want to browse the executable files in system32 it do not show any of them, i have to make it All Files to see them.

Any more ideas?

I have the same ISSUE, but with a different command line. I need to execute a dismount of my backup SATA drive which I use as a hot swap backup disk. I use "HOTSWAP!" command lines to execute the dismount/removal. It works fine from command line or scheduled with Windows Scheduler but WILL NOT work with the Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Pre/Post command.

Backup and Recovery 10.0.11345 / Windows Server 2003 R2

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

If you schedule a backup and specify before/after commands and you uncheck the “Fail the backup task if the command execution fails” and “Do not back up until the command execution is complete” boxes, the batch files might not run properly.

This is an issue in the product. Our developers have already fixed it, the update will be available in the next released build. The exact date of the new build release is unknown, we are working on it.

Meanwhile, please keep those boxes checked for the time being.

If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
