Process to "Pre-seed" a remote location with backup for nightly incrementals

Thread needs solution

Is it possible, I'm sure it is, to seed a remote site with a full backup by running the backup locally then physically transferring the backup to a remote site then edit the job to complete incrementals to this new "remote" location. I'm sure it is but what process or gotcha's will I need to be aware of.

Acronis Server 08 Server. Backup to local USB drive which will be moved to a remote location and made available as a network share over a VPN for nightly incrementals. The option to backup the initial seed over the VPN is not there as it would take weeks and put far to much load on that VPN.

Afaik, there is nothing preventing doing this. I think the folowing may work - create vault on local USB drive, perform a full backup there, then move usb drive on the remote computer and mount it, then create a new vault specifying the share as its location, and then edit backup plan, changing the 'where to back up' to point to the archive in the remote vault. To check that it works and doesn't attempt to recreate full archive, I'd try the above with usb drive mounted as a share on the same computer (and a small file archive).
