raid disk upgrade

hello guys

I have a IBM x366 server with 3 x 36gb drive in raid 5.

my system is loaded so I bought 3 x 146 GB drives.

I want to know if i make an image of my data, put the new drive in, create my partition.

will it restore fine since it is different drives? I know that I it is different scsi controller or motherboard i might have toile but if it is only drives will it work without pain.

In case you're just switching the drives, and RAID controller and mboard are the same, then there should be no issues with the recovery.

Should any issue occure, please gather

  1. Exact sequence of steps performed
  2. Recovery log
  3. BSOD message (Press F8 on booting and disable "restart upon boot failure" option)

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
