Recovery with Universal Restore interrupted for driver that is available???
I tend to be wordy so here is my question: How do I get TIEW to use the pnp0C14 driver that I have made available to it during a restore? It says it needs it but won't take it when I browse to it. Detailed explanation below:
I am using Acronis True image Echo Workstation with Universal Restore to restore my Windows XP SP3 image to a brand new Dell Latitude E6400. Prior to imaging the notebook I booted it into Windows and ran Driver Max to make a backup of all of the installed drivers. The drivers are stored on a USB drive that is recognized by TIEW when it is restoring the image.
My problem is that the recovery halts at the very end because it is looking for **pnp0c14. I have found this driver, a WMIACPI driver, amongst the backups made by Driver Max but TIEW won't acknowledge that they are correct.
The first 2x I imaged the notebook I skipped this driver and had a world of problems with the notebook after it booted into Windows. The problems typically point to ACPI related issues and I almost fell over when I saw (during my 3rd attempt to image the computer) that the driver I skipped the first two times might actually be responsible for the errors I get after the image is restored.
So here's the question, how do I get TIEW to accept this driver? I know it's the right one.
I'm also open to a generic pnp0c14 driver but I can't find it. Any suggestions about how to make this work?
Thanks for your help,
MJ
