Restore from image backup

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the image of XP Recovery.
The problem was born because I installed a new mobo and I thought that
problems arise, but it seems that is not so.
Images loads normally, but when you start the OS after the bios does not
find the disk and restart.
I think the problem is derived from the fact that the new mobo has Promise
RAID and SATA configuration.
I use the HD as ATA and I disabled RAID and SATA, when law bios
configuration the first two drivers not them hear, while reads the my as
third and fourth, I think by stupid that boot is amended accordingly.
I tried to reinstall from scratch and all proceeds normally, but I care
restore old data.
Someone know me to help to resolve the problem?
I would like to thank in advance and hope good Sunday.
I hope I explained clearly...

Hello Piero,

Thank you for using Acronis products

What is the exact version of Acronis software you used to backup & restore the image? Did you use Acronis Universal Restore?

In the case of motherboard and CPU change the replacement of the crucial HAL and hard disk controller drivers is necessary. The issue you are experiencing can be related to the lack of the appropriate hard disk controller drivers. Replacing the crucial HAL and hard disk controller drivers is critical to make the OS bootable.

The Acronis Universal Restore technology provides an efficient solution for restoration of a hardware-independent system.

Please see the article Transferring Windows to dissimilar hardware for more information.

Thank you.
