Hello Vincent,

Thank you for your post. I apologize for the delay but I will definitely help you.

With a trial version you can receive free technical support for 30 days. Unfortunately I was not able to find any issues related to this, that is why I would recommend to contact our support directly. I understand that you were unsuccessful contacting us before, but maybe this Knowledge Base article will help you.

When submitting your support request, please include the following information:

1. AcronisInfo report.

2. Dr.Watson crash dumps from our application.

If you need additional questions or have any other issue, please let me know.

Thank you.

Try these: 1-see the restrictions you have on your trial version of the app. 2-Assuming you can use the software without any restriction, format your 1.8 HDD in NTFS( you must be running Windows 2000&up) 3-Certain apps don't like some USB ports, and to be sure connect your External Hdd to different USB port(if you are using front side, hook it up to the rear one or vice versa).I need to know what happens when you do these so I can give you more instructions.

1) did try on registed account of a friend compagny account.. same
2) Formated it Several time in Fat 32 and NTFS. It's now in NTFS mode
3) 3 diffenrent computers and almost all available USB port I found on them

I made almost every check I can .

The only think which seems to work is on windows platform, 1 start the program 2 plug the USB. It crash "less"
Not working in Acronis boot. If I plug the HDD after starting, acronis do not reconiz it..

Hello Harton and Vincent!

Thank you for your comments and many thanks to Harton for his assistance.

Vincent, I completely share your concern and sincerely regret that you faced this inconvenience. Still since there were no reported issues with this particular hardware we need the diagnostic information, which will shed the light to the situation. First of all let's try updating the SnapAPI drivers which are responsible for HDD recognition and snapshot creation. I would also appreciate if you could kindly gather the logs from it - I will send you the instructions with the link via PM in a minute.

Should the issue persist, please gather and provide us with the following information:

  1. Acronis Report (please note that it can also be gathered offline, from CD)
  2. Screenshot of the Disk Management when external hdd is attached
  3. Windows Sysinfo
  4. Event Logs ( Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer )
  5. Screenshot of the crash error (if any)
  6. SnapAPI logs

After that please kindly either contact support directly or provide us with with the information attached. Keep in mind that should you decide to contact support directly and there is any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
