Should windows reddetect the hardware after a restore with UR?

Thread needs solution

So i did my first restore of an image on dissimilar hardware with universal restore 10 . All went well. After i booted into windows it redetected all the hardware again so you see the yellow popups in the tray, "hew hardware found" etc..

I thought the base hardware like HD, cd-rom, system stuff would be detected by universal restore during the restore.

I did add a ton of driver folders to restore wizard, these weren't the actual drivers from the vendors website rather they were like driver packs you can download etc.. still i thought that they should be all in there, maybe i didn't add the folders right in the wizard??

I got a few warning in the restore log , i think most of them were something like DX_Service or DX_Serv something, i assume this was to do with DirectX??

Hello Andyr,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

I understand you are concerned. Actually, the behavior of the restored system is normal.

Acronis Universal Restore module allows changing Windows Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL.dll), hard disk controller drivers and NIC drivers only. These components are critical to make the restored system bootable. It is designed to allow a machine to boot its operating system initially after a restoration/deployment of an image to hardware that is different from the one it was taken from, and then proceed with the installation of other drivers and configuration.

I didn't find any reliable information about DX_Service or DX_Serv. If you experience any difficulties in identifying the necessary drivers, please attach the entire restore log to your next post.

Thank you.
