Slow Backups Server 2008 x64

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I recently Installed within our network a Server 2008 R2 platform, the server in question has approximately 1TB of data, I have compression set to normal and the backup priority set to high. I'm backing up to a local network share on a 1Gb/s connection.
Initially I had a problem where the backup would get to 2% and fail due to a snapshot error, I managed fix this by tweaking the Acronis protection registry settings. When the backup first starts it runs at about 30Mb/s and about 10% processor usage (8 Cores) after this the transfer rate and processor usage slowly decrease with the transfer rate decreasing to about 2Mbs and processor usage below 2%. This is over a 4 hour period. Currently my backup has been running for 1 Day 11 hours and is still reporting 12 hours to complete! The same backup in Backup Exec takes less than a day! Is there a solution to this issue?
TIA
Richard.

There can be many reasons for the slow backups creation, so we need to take a closer look at the problem. Please gather the following information from the problem machine:

  1. Acronis Info
  2. Wireshark
