Suddenly error message "invalid index"

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have a question regarding Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 with SBS 2008. The System and Acronis runs for several months without any problems. The day before yesterday I got the following warning message, though there were no changes made at all. (Sorry, but the messages are in german)

LineInfo: b81011b3f8c66a24

Additionally I got the error message:

I have no idea why there are these errors suddenly. Yesterday the error occured two more times. All warning/errors occured when no task was running. The backup tasks are running without any problems.
Can anyone provide help?
Thanks in advance!
Philipp

Hello Philipp_28!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you!

Unfortunately due to the lack of sufficient diagnostic information it is hard to identify the exact cause. Usually such error message points onto the issues with the drive and pops-up during the image creation. But in your case it appears when no backup is running. That's a very strange situation, so it requires investigation. But before we proceed I would suggest you to check this article and test the solution offered, it may help as well.

Should the problem persist, please do the following:

  1. Go to Start -> Run -> cmd, issue there the following command
    chkdsk /f /r
    and reboot the machine.
  2. Gather Acronis Info from the machine you receive this error warning on
  3. Specify exact sequence of steps performed

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
