TI 2010 Recovery Disk

Thread needs solution

I have TI 11 8053 and tried to clone a striped drive set (Intel RAID) to a mirrored set. I understand that there is a problem with this version handling Intel RAID drives. Therefore, I cloned my striped drives to an external drive; downloaded TI 2010 trial; created a recovery disk and attempted to boot from it. I assume that my RAID1 disks have a problem with track 0 and MBR. When I try to boot from the recovery disk I get: "Missing Operating System". How do I get round this problem? If I can correctly clone my exteral drive to the RAID disks using TI 2010 I will happily buy the product. However, I see that as a waste of money if it doesn't solve my problem.

Hello Joseph,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Please check in your computer's BIOS if booting from removable media (CD-ROM) is allowed and switched on. Set the CD-ROM as a first boot device in boot sequence.

The main problem is that the image doesn't contain the necessary drivers. The system will be unbootable after the recovery. If you want to transfer the system to another RAID configuration, you should use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation with Acronis Universal Restore.

Acronis Universal Restore provides an efficient solution for restoration of a hardware-independent system by replacing the crucial HAL and hard disk controller drivers. Acronis Universal Restore is an optional program feature.

Please see the article Transferring Windows to Dissimilar Hardware for more information.

Thank you.
