Using Advanced Server to install Workstation - Licensing error?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am trying to install Backup and Restore workstation from Advanced Server with License server installed on it.
From the log I think that the license server says I don't have a license for that product.
However, this is what I have on the license server:
2x Acronis True Image Echo Workstation Upgrade
21x Acronis True Image Echo Workstation
2x Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation Upgrade

Shouldn't I be able to install 2 Backup & Recovery Advanced Workstation with this?

Thank you,
Ido

Dear Ido!

Thank you for the info provided!

According to the log, the product can connect to the License Server, but on the License check it fails to find an available one. I've checked the rest of the information, and can see that you're trying to install on a Server 2003, using a Workstation license.

Unfortunately, Acronis Backup and Recovery Workstation editions doesn't support Server OS. You can find the list of supported OSes in this KB article: it specifies supported operating systems for each components of Acronis Backup and Recovery.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns - I will be glad to address them.

Hi Yana,

Thank you again.
Is there a way to use the server to backup Windows 2003/2008 servers? Is there an agent with a different license at all?

Thank you,
Ido

Hi Udo!

Sure, we do have a product that support Windows Server remote backup. It's almost identical to Workstation, and the main difference is that it does have support for Server OS : Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server.

You can find the trial version here, and all User Guides here.

Since this solution cannot be called cheap one, I would advise you to contact our Sales department. I will send you the Sales Representative contacts via Private message.

Please let me know in case you need anything else - I will be happy to help.

Thank you!
