Win7: Failed to create the backup plan. The items selected to back up have not been found.

Thread needs solution

I have installed the latest build of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 on my 32-bit Windows 7 Professional laptop and set it to run under my user account which has Administrative privileges.

When I try to create any kind of backup plan and click OK I get the following error message:
"Failed to create the backup plan. The items selected to back up have not been found.". This occurs with any combination of options selected - Disks/volumes or files, backing up to a local directory or to a USB drive, selecting 1 file to backup or multiple files, etc.

Could you please advise me on how to get this sorted?

Unfortunately it's hard to identify what exactly caused the issue (there can be dozens of reasons), so this situation requires investigation.but most probably the issue occurred due to the SnapAPI glitch, responsible for accessing the drive.

I will send you the SnapAPI update in a minute via Private Message, please follow the instructions and see whether the issue persists.

Should it remain, we will need some additional diagnostic data. Could you please gather the following information?

  1. Exact sequence of steps performed
  2. Windows System Information
  3. Acronis Info from the problem machine

After that please either send this information to us by attaching it to your next comment or  contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
