Windows 7 64bit Clone, currupts Original system and clone

Thread needs solution

Cloned a HP System drive running windows 7 64bit pro using a Acronis boot disk (Acronis Backup & Recovery 10)
Cloning runs with no errors, once cloning is completed and cloned disk is removed, Original systemdoes not load. Windows Starts to boot and suddenly bluescreens, windows reboots and asks if you wish to repair or try load windows again. Both fail.

I inserted the windows repair disk, ran the repair to no avail. After rebooting and going back into windows repair, went to cmd promt and ran bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot etc. When I reboot same problem continues.

This has now happened on two PC's. I cant start again as these have very specific settings.

Any ideas or sollutions please feel free to comment>>>

Hello Dean,

Thank you for using Acronis software.

I saw, that you did not have registered your Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 product. Therefore, I think you are using an older bootable media. Does the same happen, when using the bootable media from your True Image 2013 by Acronis?

On older machines, it could be necessary to do a cold restart, enter the bios to simple save, and exit it.

Alternatively, you can use backup and recovery instead of cloning. There you should not face these situations.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
