Any way to configure FTPs - as in port 990 and with passive??

Thread needs solution

I am all into security and run an sFTP and an FTPs FTP site. FTPs is MUCH faster and MUCH more reliable than sFTP and port 21 is simplly not permissible. Yet, no apparent capability to use 990??? In an enterprise product ??? HUH?

Also, - which may be the issue, seemingly no way to insert a cert into Protect8 since it will neet a cert in order for me to log on.

This seems so fundamentallyl required that it can't be missing in an enterprise product ... but, no amount of searching in the documents seem to uncover it.

Then, again, my eyes aren't what they used to be ....

HELP!

Hi,

The custom FTP port can be specified in the path field in ftp://[IP]:[port] format, however from what I have checked there are problems accessing the archives with custom port (it does browse the folders on FTP properly but archive cannot be created). We're now checking the issue with our QA team to see what's causing it (since it should work) and if we discover an issue then we'll fix it in 9th version.

Concerning the SSL certificates which are generated on appliance - they can be replaced with your own ones to verify the security. Please see my reply in the following thread related to this issue: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/35996 . The certificate can be replaced via WinSCP or any other SSH tool which allows file management inside the appliance (see instructions from troubleshooting section of http://kb.acronis.com/content/36100 article).

Thank you.

In addition to my previous post:

We have tested backup to FTP with custom port and it does work properly. In our case we were using port number 900. Before it didn't work due to firewall issues in our network which blocked that specific port. In other words you can back up to ftp://[IP]:[port] with 8th version of Acronis vmProtect properly.

Thank you.
