Replication - Datastore missing on ESXi Host

Thread needs solution

We are using Acronis Backup for VMware Agent (build 9.2.10535)

On this Acronis Virtual Appliance, we are using 3 ESXi hosts as destination for VM Replication.

On one of this hosts (10.80.103.170 -> see screenshot attached), local ESXi Datastore is not appearing in Acronis when I try to do Replication Task. For this ESXi host, we have one more Datastore which is iSCSI NAS datastore, and this one is appearing in Acronis.

On other 2 ESXi host, we have the same situation, and all datastores are in Acronis.

Where is the problem? Is there some special setting for datastores?

Hi Marin,

Most likely the problem here is in duplicate InstanceUUID properties for 2 datastores across 2 separate ESXi hosts which causes the datastore to be detected for example for ESXi_host1, but not for ESXi_host_2. In order to localize the issue and figure out whether the problem is with the InstanceUUID properties you should do the following:

1) Deploy a separate Acronis Backup for VMware virtual appliance

2) Configure only problematic ESXi host (.170 one) under Configure->ESXi hosts

3) Open VM replication wizard, select any VM and check whether this local datastore appears as available for selection.

If yes, then add other ESXi hosts one by one and re-check until problem appears. After that capture the log file (View->Show Logs->Save All To File) and contact our support team for further assistance.

If not, then capture the log file just from this new appliance and contact our support team for assistance - it will show us whether the instances enumeration went well or not.

Thank you.

I have tested everything that you have said... Here is info...

I have create new Test Virtual Appliance of Acronis on same ESXi host where is also old one. I have added all ESXi hosts in Acronis configuration and tried to do replication. Every Datastore is now availiable in this new Test Virtual Appliance, and everything works fine there. I have to note that I add all ESXi hosts that we have, and like I have said before, all Datastores are there.

On old, existing (production) Acronis Virtual Appliance, I have tried to remove all ESXi hosts, and then readd it one by one starting with problematic host 10.80.103.170 where datastore is missing -> problem is still there - datastore is missing.

I have logs from both Virtual Appliance... Where should I send them?

Thank you for support

Marin, you can start from http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/ - remember to log into your Acronis account to see all available support options.
