Unmounting storage disks before shutting down

Thread needs solution

I have noticed that when shutting down the Acronis Appliance, it does not first unmount my storage volume. I would like it to do that to avoid problems with the filesystem.

Is that a feature request or tech support issue (it should be doing that)?

Hi Ben,

If you are referring to locally attached storage (separate virtual disk attached to appliance to be used as backup repository), then it is considered just as usual local disk after you initialize and mount in from appliance console. There is no reason to unmount it before the shutdown (just like for other 1GB + 4GB default disks). Can you please clarify whether there were any problems with this disk after appliance shutdown? I.e. what is the root cause for your request?

Edit: I've also asked our Linux team - appliance should automatically dismount the locally attached storage upon shutdown and mount it upon startup. So in general it should work.

Thank you.
