About Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 and USB HDD area

Thread needs solution

Hello guys,

I have a question that I don't understand.

Can I ask you something?

<Prerequisite.
Windows server is backed up with Acronis CyberBackup.
The backup destination will be USB HDD.
Confirmation of precautions in this case

Can a USB HDD area be specified as a backup destination?
When restoring, when booting from bootable media, can the USB
HDD be restored? Can the USB HDD be recognized?

After backup is made to a USB HDD, can it be disconnected and reconnected again for incremental backup?
If not, we assume that a full backup will be performed each time, but will the previous backup be overwritten?

Hello,

1- Yes, the external disk can be selected as the destination for the backup.

2- As long as it's properly connected and functioning, you can restore the external disk with the B.media: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberBackup_12.5/#recovering-disks-by-using-bootable-media.html

3- The external disk can be disconnected, but not during the backup. If it gets disconnected during the backup process, it will fail. Make sure the disks are connected when the backup starts and keep them connected until the backup is finished.

4- A full backup will only be executed each time if you select that option in the backup plan's schedule. Please read the following user guide for more information about the schedule: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberBackup_12.5/#schedule.html

Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Thanks.
