Windows Defender is blocked by a third-party antivirus software
Has anyone seen this error yet?
"Windows Defender is blocked because Acronis Cyber Protect is installed on the machine."
It seems like a Catch-22 scenario. How do I resolve this?

Thank you. I actually ended up doing this (see below) and the issue cleared, too. Is there a preferred direction or is it dependant on what the endpoint looks like?

we also have the same problem .. ist there a workaround possible? it*s a little bit funny to read that‘s not possible to activate windows defender because Acronis Cyber Protect is already installed.

Acronis Cyber Protect 15 provides Windows Defender Antivirus management. Thus, if you applied a protection plan with the enabled Windows Defender Antivirus option, the software will control this function (please see the screenshots in previous posts for more details).

Hi,
today I had a chat with Acronis Support and for me error Message is a little bit confusing.
We did following:
- uninstall old antivirus
- now windows defender is active
- install Acronis Cyber Protect Agent
- Try to activate windows defender settings ==> Warning message
It looks if you install cyber protect and add ist to Management Server , agent communicate with Server and i‘ts not necessary to switch on defender because its already active now.. All switches are green now.
