Boot media license question.

Thread needs solution

I've purchased True Image in the past, several times, and I only ever used the boot media to create and restore backed up images. I would typically install True Image, make the boot media, then uninstall True Image and just use the boot media for backup and restore.

I'm looking to purchase Acronis Cyber Protect, but I have some licensing questions regarding using the boot media.

  1. Is the boot media tied to only the licensed machine, or can I use the boot media to backup several machines even if they do not have an Acronis license?
  2. Is the boot media tied to any time constraints? For example, if my license expires can I still continue to use the boot media for backup and restore?
  3. Can I use the boot media if I uninstall Acronis from my PC?

Thanks for any information.

Hello!

  1. The bootable media will only back up the machine where it was registered. It can't be used to back up other devices. Each machine requires one license.

  2. Once the subscription expires, you can't perform more backups. Only the recovery tab is available. You will be able to recover old backups, essentially.

  3. You can still use the bootable media if you uninstall the agent, following this KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/69427.

Thanks in advance!
