Disable marketing pop-ups?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I apologize if this has been covered - I did a quick search and nothing popped up.  But is there a way to disable the constant marketing taskbar popups?   You can check 'do not show again' but that only applies to that particular offer.  I'm not seeing a way to disable them all together.

I have 5 machines running Acronis, and I'm really tired of these things popping up all over the place.  I really hope there's a way to opt out.  If there isn't a way to avoid being marketed to via invasive taskbar notifications on a paid product, that's really a problem for me. (and I'm sure others),   It's enough to drive me away from the product.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Will, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please send a private message to Ekaterina Surkova | Forum Moderator who can try to get this turned off in your Acronis Account to stop the pop-up messages.

Hello Will,

thank you for your posting! We can disable the promo pop-ups for your account, please send me the email-address in question in a private message (click on Send message under my profile icon) and I'll ask the respective team to do that.

Just to say that ...

1) Not only is it ridiculous that you put popup ads in PAID software

2) Not only is it ridiculous that you don't put an option to disable these ads in the software, but you make us message somebody on a forum to disable them.

3) That when I have messaged Ekaterina, my message gets ignored.

So anybody reading this, don't believe what is posted. There is no way to disable ads in the Acronis software that you paid good money for.

Hello Daniel,

please accept our apologies for the delayed response and all the inconvenience caused! I've asked my colleagues to exclude your account from the promo campaigns. Please note that in order the exclusions to be applied you need to stay signed in to your account in the product.

How to disable this stupid "AV licence has been expired" popup every windows boot?

Hi!
If you don't plan upgrading to one of the editions that include the Antimalware feature, you can turn the Antimalware protection off: go to Protection section and click Turn off protection, see https://kb.acronis.com/content/65499 for more details. The alert shouldn't appear after that.

Hi,

I have been using Acronis for years it's a Great Product! I am now uninstalling this great product because of what I just read in this thread and will find another great product to replace it.

It is not ok to force marketing onto people for a product they already paid for with no option to disable it.

It literally makes your product the definition of MALWARE.

I did a web search the same as I'm sure many others have to find out how to disable these ridiculous marketing popups, and I found out the only way to do so is to contact somebody on a forum????

I can not believe what I am reading, it is to stupid to comprehend.

There are plenty of other products that serve the same function without irritating their paid customers.

I will not be back.

I am running TrueImage 2018 and get a popup which offers me a subscription. So I need to contact Ekaterina to have her disable that? Is my understanding correct?

Hi,

I'm also sick of dayli popups asking for subscription purchase with no options to disable that !!!!

Hello everyone.

Thanks for the feedback.

The only way to disable that is clicking exit at the top right corner. Please note that will probably appear every time you restart the device while the campaign is active.

I have forwarded your comments and the team is aware of this situation.

Thanks in advance!

There is absolutely no way I will ever purchase another Acronis product if this continues.  I have around 40x PCs running Acronis True Image 2021 and absolutely refuse to purchase annual subscriptions to a product that also includes security when I have my own choice of security products. These constant popups are extremely annoying and should be able to be stopped. If you produce a basic backup program with a perpetual license,  I'll consider upgrading, but until then, I'm looking for alternatives. I now there are a great many others who feel the same.

For me it seems to have stopped. Either the magic Ekaterina has disabled it (in this case thanks), or something else happened.

I did one thing though:
In my profile (the Dashboard Acronis one) I have disabled all notifications:

Email me about -> Don't send me any messages

I too am being pestered to "protect my digital life" when all I want to do is use the software I paid for in peace. Any Acronis department want to turn this off before it spirals out of hand ?

If we have to give permission for companies to market to us through most other means, I am sad this is being carried out without an option to permanently dismiss the popups. It is like having an early 2000s computer with a virus.

If this was freeware, we might understand the exchange, but when it is a product we paid for, the choice should very much be ours.

Hello!

In fact there is a marketing campaign.

You can disable that clicking in the top right corner on the exit button.

I have passed your feedback regarding those pop-ups to the team.

Thanks in advance!

OK, @Jose Pedro I followed instructions by clicking the profile upper right, and in the profile asking to turn off emails.  HOW CAN WE DISABLE POP UPS in Windows 11?

This has been a source of annoyance for months now.  Many of us are not understanding why you can't at least create a selection that says [ ] Disable pop-ups.

and for the extended group, has anyone heard of alternatives to  Acronis who might actually listen to customers and their requests?  This thread has been active for at least three years.

Hello David.

I was informed there is no way to permanently disable them. You can simply exit them every time they appear.

Recently in fact we had marketing campaigns every month and that's why you receive those pop-ups so frequently.

I am sorry for any inconvenience but for now that's the information I have.

Best regards.

I wanted to "Protect my digital life" with Acronis Backup since 2010. I could arrange with the support team to remove pop-up messages pushing me to subscription in 2020.
Acronis 2019 (my perpetual licence) still does the job: backing up my PC-s.
The annoying pop-up windows are back. I feel tired to fight against something I paid for.
Dear Acronis Team, you are on a wrong way, you are losing customers. I leave, too.

Good Bye!

Oh good !

The arrival of "year end" has started you at it again. Adverts in the program, adverts as pop-ups on my computer screen - it's like having a 1990s virus.

Just stop it, Acronis. It is a mix between pathetic and downright rude.

If you are signed in to your Acronis Account on the Account page of your Acronis GUI and the software was activated with a license serial number, then try signing out along with stopping the Acronis Managed Machine Mini background service and setting it to Manual for the Automatic start option in the services control panel.  This should stop you getting the pop up adverts as Acronis won't be communicating back to base!

I have made those changes and will see how it pans out. Got hit three times by an advert (closed each time) just in the process of doing those changes. They really aren't being subtle.

Any company that makes Norton look okay about pushing their product, is overdoing it !

Thanks for the help / suggestions :)

Sadly, advert on desktop AND in program notifications panel upon opening computer just now. Which is not ideal.

I have been using Acronis products for years. I have 7 perpetual licenses and 1 active Cyber Protect Home Office Essentials subscription.

I have been annoyed by these daily popups for quite a while. I am disappointed with the Acronis marketing strategy. I obviously like the products as shown by the number of products I have purchased.

I am at the point where I need to decide about jumping off this ship. I literally have 2 other backup strategies (Synology on premises and IDrive off premises). I am very serious about backups.

Please stop these popups. I have absolutely nothing to lose by uninstalling Acronis completely.

Merry Christmas.
