Moving backup file from one machine to another
I recently built a new workstation and put it on my network. I run all apps on a small nvme drive, and all data goes to a RAID separately for safe keeping.
Now that my new machine is in place, I thought it might be best to ghost an image of my data drive up to the cloud (about 900 GB), restore it to my new machine, and then set those to sync.
I've got a 1GB down limit and 33mbps up, so it should be ok. Does that sound like the right approach? I was also thinking since I'd be syncing, I could use my 1TB m2 drive and bag the RAID since I'd already be synced.
Recommendations?
I've got a ton of unused storage space in my SAS (at least 12TB), but I don't need to commit it to anything immediately.

JT, as you have two computers on the same network, then assuming that you have two licenses for Acronis, you can create a Sync between those two computers without going via the Cloud if you want to do so.
See Creating a sync in the user guide.

Thanks! I've tried this. But when doing so, I can't see the needed drives on the machines. It seems that even though they are drives, not just folders, it doesn't like it.
My original thought was to get a 1 TB cloud account, but other than being off-site, there's not much point.

Sync works with folder selection but not the root folder - see What you can and cannot synchronize for details.

OK, I thought that, as you can tell by my answer. I'll read through that and give it a whack tomorrow.
Sync will be my best option; I'm trying to keep two drives to backup if I lose my data drive. Sync would work better than hourly or constant backups, so that's what I want to do anyway.
I'll report back
EDIT:
After glancing at it, I should make one big folder and sync everything accordingly. Then change my 'My Documents' to use a different path, and that should fix it.
