Backing up to a 3rd internal drive.
I have a new PC with multiple M.2 SSD slots. I'm thinking to create a True Image backup of the C: OS drive onto the 3rd internal drive E: Backup, and to create another True Image backup of the D: Data drive onto the 3rd Drive E: Backup. As these are all fast SSD's the backups should run in reasonable time, and considerably faster than to an external drive.
I will also have a concurrent Cloud Backup ongoing for the C: and D: drives, plus I will do a periodic backup (or just copy) of the E: Backup to an external USB SSD. A backup of a tibx file seems fraught with errors, so a copy.
The reason for 2 True Image backups, is that from experience when a single backup with large amounts of data is used it takes "forever" (days!) to create and to restore this, especially if going to an external USB SSD drive. With a separate backup for the C drive, restoring this will be much faster, when needed.
Overkill, maybe, but will it work? What is best approach, Full, Incremental, or Deferential for this approach? How many of each? Will have to delete backups after perhaps 2 Fulls.
Thanks
Joel

Joel, I do just such a backup. Every day I run an incremental backup from my C: drive and then my D: drive (both SSDs) to the G: hard drive. I run 6 increments so I get a new full once a week.
These backups are very fast and I don't even notice them. I also run nightly data backups to the NAS and weekly disk backups. But I only have the NAS on for a short time to run evening backups to keep it better protected. So I find that the backups to the internal drive are convenient if I need to do a quick restore of something.
