How to backup documents to NAS without bundling into a file?
This product is EASY to do a bare-metal recovery setup by making an image of the while PC.
But I have documents in a large tree of folders that I need to make available to others in the office. We have a QNAP NAS for sharing files.
I do the full image backup to it.
Now I am trying how (or which product?) I can use to maintain a as-is copy of this document tree in another folder on the NAS?
I just tried adding another backup job for the top folder, in to where I want the tree to be on the NAS. And I got a single TLB file! hahaha on me! I knew it was too easy.
So I come here for guidance!
Thanks in advance.
Richard.

Thanks Steve!
I like QNAP's "NetBAK replicator" - also free and not tied or limited to their product. But it has two "features" that are not working in this case (I post this to help others):
1. Requires Volume Shadow Service. While essential for copying files open by the OS or programs, in my case there is something "off" with VSS. And I am unable to fix it. And this workflow does not need VSS. If the files are in use, it can just get them next backup.
2. Fully mapped tree. Not only does it copy the full tree of the sub-folders I'm interested in, but it adds a few more top levels for sorting and enumerating the backups. While this is a nice feature for the general backup process, its just annoying to my users who want access to the folders I backed up. This requires them to drill down 10 folders!
SyncFolders will let me plop the backed up document tree into a top level folder, making life easier for my users. I dunno if its using VSS. I will have to test it on the target machine to find out. I do like how easy to setup it is!
Cobian Backup is another product I have used for this kind of workflow. But I know it depends on VSS. And VSS is definitely not happy on the target machine!
Another working solution I did test on the target machine is Beyond Compare. It does not depend on VSS - at least it works on the target machine. But I have never scripted it before so I will only use it if nothing else "easier" works.
Thanks for you input!
Stay safe.
