TI 2021: Soo many problems and lack of features (which were present in older versions)

Thread needs solution

I have been using TI for a long time and uodated it every ~3 years. Now I have version 2021 (as there is no forum for TI 2021 I post this in the TI 2020 forum. What is the Status dropdown here for? What shall I select here? This is really unclear to me) And my support has ended, so I need to post here. I did not find any other possibility. Even buying new support is not possivble, although I would never pay to report all these errors. Well, I have issued seleveral support cases with mainly bugs in the past, but almost none of them have been solved, or the answer was: not possible. Or after requesting the 3rd time for system reports, etc. without any glimpse of a solution I did longer answer (I did waste soo much time in reporting errors/problems). REALLY ANNOYING! Only one bug seems to have been fixed: Mounting a tib file did sometimes not find a version named '1' or '4' of the backup cannot be found, although all files of the chain were there. And all my proposals to improve TIs User interface to make it better usable have been ignored. There are so many little things not working. Main issues/problems/bugs: I. Removed features: 1. Set a limit of disk space for backups, with automatic removal of old versions if over this limit Why has this been removed??? I need this as I am again running out of disk space and though failed backup This leeds to the next lack: 2. Deleting old version from the backup chain. With this version you can only delete complete chains. Why is it no longer possible to delete just the incremental version and keep the complete backup of a chain? This was possible in older versions. => When will there be free update to have back these features? II. Bugs: 1. Restoring from a tibx file take 3 times longer than restoring from a tib file. 2. Crashes when restoring the system drive (By rebooting the system through TI, by the Linux Boot medium, by the Windows PE boot medium, I tried around 10 different versions/systems) 3. When starting TI while an backup process is running, old backup folder are created (I my case up to 6, on systems), all of them remain emtpy. I did sent clear instructions how to reproduce that to the support, but no solution for that. I have send many times system reports, clear descriptions. But none of the above solved. Can anyone help me here how to solve these issues? TI is still a good backup program, but with all these issues and lacks in the UI (almost no key board support, no proper system file dialog, often TI take many seconds to respond (after each mouse click)), IT IS SOOO ANNOYING. And again working with TI is soo annoying, every mouse click 5 seconds (on a pretty fast system with a 7GBs SSD1)
Starting a restore while another restore fails. Why is this not then added to the queue like when starting backups?
Clicking at the running restore to check its progress. Then selecting again the new restore: all made selection are gone!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Why?
So, again too many clicks to start that restore, and again after each click many seconds. so to start a restore takes 30 Seconds? Why? Should be possible in 5 seconds or even faster. GRRRRRRR

So annyoing. TI could be such a good product if I would respond a) properly, b) within normal response time (<300ms)

Next problem: destination volume was too small. Why is TI unable to tell the user this? Just 'unable to restore the volume' is absolutely not helpful. GRRRRRRRR

What the heck,
after one restore I now have to restart TI! otherwise the restore fails.
Please help me, how to report all this to TI and how to get all these problems (and some more) fixed.

and now, after installinfg an additional SSD, and copying, moving some volumes, TI takes around 2 minutes to start, removeing a backup task takes 1 minute.
What is here taking soooo long.

E.g. the minitool partition wizard takes 3 seconds to lauch, to list all volumes around 2 seconds, why is TI soooo slow with this?

Chris, as you have already found, there is no more support for any version of ATI from 2021 or older, along with Acronis dropping all perpetual licenses for their products, so the only option open to all users now is to purchase a subscription for the rebranded ATI 2022 successor product, Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, which in essence adds nothing to the core features you have known in earlier versions but bundles a host of antivirus features that users didn't ask for!

There is no solution for the issues brought in with .tibx files and ATI 2020 until such time as Acronis produce a new incarnation of ACPHO and have addressed the list of known issues (perhaps?).

See forum topic: Reflecting on a Post-ATI World where other users have discussed alternative backup solutions.

Thank you.

So best is to look for another software that works and has fewer problems and which has a proper support.
The support policy of Acronis is really bad and really ignorant to the users.
I shall pay to get bugs resolved, no way.

As @Steve Smith says, many of the issues are related to the implementation of *.tibx architecture. Hopefully the promised rebuild of ACPHO will be far more responsive. Acronis Cyber Protect 15, which also used *.tibx architecture, is far more responsive (at least in my limited testing).

The best way of making your views known to Acronis is through the in-application feedback (oddly placed under help). Not that it will make any difference to the performance of ATI 2021/ACPHO, where I suspect they are only fixing major bugs (which are relatively easy to fix).
