Acronis Disk Director Application Error with WinPE (built by Acronis media builder)
I currently use Acronis Disk Director 11 Home (build 11.0.216) for my laptop's disk management. I try to build a bootable ISO file with WinPE by using the "Acronis Media Builder" in Acronis Disk Director 11 Home.
After the ISO image is created, I burnt it into a disc and reboot my laptop with the disc. Then I get "ManagementConsole.exe Application Error" as attachment.
The configuration of my laptop (Dell latitude 6420) is: Intel Core i5-2520M; 8GB RAM; 320GB Hard Disk; OS: Windows7 Pro 64-bit.
The process I make the Bootable ISO file is as following:
Next->Bootable Media Type: Windows PE; Create Windows PE 2.x or 3.0 automatically->Next (No driver added)->ISO image->Next->Process
I do some observation and investigation by myself:
1. Use this disc to boot my old laptop (ASUS F3JC; 2GB RAM; 80GB Hard Disk, WindowsXP Pro SP1), the Acronis Disk Director start successfully without error.
2. As the command line windows appeared, I found the file it cope for winpe is all from x86 folder.
x86 architecture support 32 bits, 32-bit system only limited to 4GB memory. My guess this problem is caused by more than 4GB RAM in WinPE, then it make sense that the disc can work on my old laptop which has RAM less than 4GB.
Since Acronis Disk Director can work properly in Windows7 Pro 64-bit, there should be some mechanism to handle more than 4GB RAM. I just wonder this mechanism can be created in winpe to solve this problem?
It is appreciate that someone can give some help so that I can make this disc work for my laptop.
