After installed Windows 7 is unable to start!

Thread needs solution

Hi.

I have bought Disk Director 12 today and then made 2 attempts to install it - both were fail!
In particular scenario was the same in all attempts:
1) install Disk Director 12.
2) restart OS.
3) Windows 7 crash on start, report it cannot start and sugest to run Windows Restore.
4) Windows Restore rollback to previous system state and Windows started normally.

So, absolutely for sure - Disk Director 12 IS COMPLETELY UNWORKABLE SOFTWARE! :-(

Please FIX IT IMMEDIATELY. Or return me my money!

Regards,
Dmitry.

I have the same situation. I installed Disk Director 12 with no errors. When the install finished it asked for the computer to be rebooted. Upon reboot I got a blue screen of death. Now it is an endless loop of reboot = blue screen of death.

Specs:
Asus P8P67 motherboard (BIOS 3602)
Intel i7-2600K processor
8GB RAM
Intel 120GB SSD (Windows)
WDC 1TB drive (data files)
Windows 7 Professional
Acronis True Image 2012 (15.0.0.7133)

UPDATE:
It appears to me that Disk Director 12 is not compatible with older True Image products.

I restored windows to a pre-disk director 12 image and the computer booted properly. I then uninstalled true image 2012 and reinstalled Disk Director 12. The computer booted no problem. However, when I tried to reinstall True Image 2012 I received a non-descriptive "Fatal Error" message from the installer program. Same thing when I tried to install True Image 2011. However, I tried installing True Image 2015 (trial version) and it installed and worked fine.

If I have to choose between Disk Director and True Image, Disk Director hits the trash can.

Update 2:
I was able to get Disk Director 12 to work with pre-2015 versions of True Image. This is what I did:
- Uninstalled Disk Director 12
- Downloaded and ran True Image cleanup utility (https://kb.acronis.com/content/34876)
- Completed the registry edits listed in step 6 (after running the utility but before restarting the computer)
- Reinstalled Disk Director 12
- Reinstalled True Image 2012
- Reinstalled Plus Pack

I had a similar occurrence after installing Disk Director 12. My system was locked in an endless loop of system reboots. After a day and a half of trying every possible Windows recovery option, I was forced to revert to a backup that was 8 months old. What pisses me off most was I know better but my work hours change every 4 weeks and i just haven't taken the time to setup a proper backup procedure. That's the main reason for purchasing the upgrade since i am a version behind, but to have such an epic failure on such a simple update goes beyond reasoning. To have the software that is supposed to protect us from these epic failures actually creating one is cause for me to re-evaluate my software choice, I too am going to request a refund and take my business else where. Good luck to the gents from the previous posts.

It seems solution suggested by DeanB is working fine (at least for me).

So, I just reposting the same:
- Uninstalled Disk Director 12
- Downloaded and ran True Image cleanup utility (https://kb.acronis.com/content/34876)
- Completed the registry edits listed in step 6 (after running the utility but before restarting the computer)
- Reinstalled Disk Director 12

After OS restart it works fine.
