Compatiblity Error When Running in Vista Home Premium SP 1

Thread needs solution

I have a CD for Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 which I installed, then rebooted, and then double clicked the icon on the desktop. A compatiblity error message came up and directed me to the product updates. I downloaded the update DiskDirectorSuite10.0.2239_s_en, which I installed and ended up recieving the same error.

However, then I downloaded the Trial version of and that version loaded just fine without compatibility errors.

Could someone help me get a full version of Disk Director Suite 10 that I can enter my registration number in, that works on Vista Home Premium as the trial version does.

Thank you,
Tom

Dear Tom,

The day before yesterday I tried to use ADDS 10 to make one additional partition at my 260Gb HDD of the Sony VGC-LM1 desktop - usual operation, which Partition Magic does easily! But... after rebooting and 5% progress bar advance Acronis turned off my PC without any warnings and so crashed all my system.

THAT is MY warning - don't use this product at all, we cannot rely upon it! Many claims in the forum can prove this opinion!

Moreover, when I tried to ask for support and have registered yesterday evening I was unable to get access to this forum - an answer link arrived at noon today only - it's very strange situation for the firm's site in nowadays. It happens for the first time in my Internet life since 1992!

Of course, I am VERY disappointed and will do all my best to inform computer community about the situation!

SY, alex

Have you tried installing DD10 with the run as Admin option in Vista?

You could also try changing the settings of the UAC. I don't have a Vista system at the moment, but don't recall having an install problem with Vista Business.

Thanks Colin,

I am running as administrator. I would assume that security would not be a problem since the trial version works.

If you have any other thoughts I would much appreciate them.

Thanks again,
Tom

Hello all,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0

Tom,

Could you please let us know the exact error message? If it is convenient for you, could you please create a screen shot of the error message and attach to your next post?

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.

- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.

Thank you.
