DD11 Acronis bootable Media Builder + TI2010 + WinPE = no TI 2010?

Thread needs solution

i cant build a WinPE bootcd using Acronis bootable Media Builder that was included with DD11, dont know why, it creates a DD11 standalone and no TI2010 is included :(
http://img.techpowerup.org/100624/Capture066.jpg

it says its gonna include TI2010 home but it does not!

i have
True Image 2010 with power pack
Disk Director 11
WAIK for Windows 7

I don't have DD11, but I have seen several posts to this effect, and I was wondering this-

Assuming the WinPE bootable media starts DD11 via the startnet.cmd batch file similarly to a TI2010 WinPE build, if you minimize the DD11 window and are left at the WinPE command prompt, is there no True Image under X:\Program Files anywhere? Unless Acronis has included some kind of shell (I don't know if this is true or not), you may have to start TI from the command line. WinPE has no inherent shell - the main interface is command line.

there is no true image on the output iso, even when it says it will be included :O

What does show under X:\Program Files\ whilst WinPE is running (I'm just curious)? And what does X:\Windows\System32\startnet.cmd have in it?

there is a trueimage_starter.exe in startnet.cmd but thats for starting disk director 11

and no trueimage folder in program files only drivedirector

Thanks. It is strange that the startnet.cmd has the command to start True Image but True Image is missing, and also strange that this command starts Disk Director. There should be a folder \TrueImageHome, which is where trueimage_starter.exe is located (along with other TI files).

trueimage_starter.exe is a starter program, so it can start TI or DD, thats why its in DiskDirector folder, other than that True Image files are missing/never added

Hello,

Gary, thanks for your help.

I've already reported the issue to the responsible department and our developers are working to fix it.

Please accept our profound apologies for the delays.

Thank you.

Hi Ilya,

you said Acronis developers will fix the mentioned isue.
Now after 4 months and a few days have passed Acronis came out with a brand new build (2121) of ADD11H.
First thing I said was: wow they finally did it.
Then trying immediately to build a bootable PE medium with both ATIH2011 and ADD11H, I really became disapointed and angry.
The issue is still the same as before.
The "Bootable Media Builder" of ADD11H says in its last overview window it is going to include ATIH2011 but it actually does the same as before: -nothing but ADD11H only-
How much patience do the developers expect from paying clients???
This is all applying to German version. I do not know about other language versions!

Still waiting for a fix.
Regards

why cant acronis release a beta patchs so we can test them, it will make everyone happy
and i see no reason for two WinPE/Linux ISO/CD/USB build tools that does nearly the same thing, what about just using Acronis Bootable Media Builder as a separate tool for both true image and disk director and discontinue WinPE Builder that is harder to use and less advanced than acronis bootable media builder

Ditto. Just tried 2121 myself. While creating the .ISO will include TIH and DD, creating the PE Image does NOT include TIH.

I'm beginning to think this is intentional. Otherwise, why would they list Acronis WinPE ISO Builder as a feature in the TIH 2011 Plus Pack? The DD Media builder sees TIH installed and therefore lists it as being included in the image. But I'm thinking the TIH Plus Pack might actually include the TIH binaries necessary for this to work in a PE environment.

Just for clarity, I'm speaking about TIH 2011 and DD 2011.

For 2012 I'd like to see Acronis offer the Acronis Ultimate Suite. Install it, and you get all the functionality possible - no add-ons or Plus features necessary.

To all of you chaps, who do not like to wait for another decade for an "Acronis Solution" of the above mentioned issue. The Acronis Support even states: "There is no possibility to combine ADD 11H and ATIH 2011 in one bootable medium!"

There is a most effective and easy way for you to combine both on one CD or USB-Stick.

The Procedure is based on a Win7 x86 platform and WAIK3 but should also work on all others.

1. You should have already a WinPE ISO from ATIH 2011; if not first of all fix it up with the PLusPack.
2. Get back to WAIK and have it build a new directory: "copype x86 C:\Developer".
3. Go to your ATIH 2011 ISO, open it with WinZip or whatever and "Drag and Drop" boot.wim from the ISO into your new main folder C:\Developer (do not use "Extract", in that case you are building a new subdirectory "Suorces" into the main directory of C:\Developper).
4. Open the folder C:\Developer, delete "winpe.wim" and rename "boot.wim" to "winpe.wim".
5. Start "Bootable Rescue Media Builder" from ADD 11H and select "Next".
6. Select bootable medium "Windows PE" and mark on the same page "Use WinPE Files in a specific Folder" (or similar, sorry I am just translating my German version). Click "Next".
7. Now select the "ISO" folder in your folder C:\Developer and click "Next".
8. If you have some specific drivers, put them in otherwise click "Next".
9. Select ISO-Image and click "Next".
10. Select location of your new ISO-Image or take what it says, click "Next".

11. Now make your dreams come true --- it’s a small step for the "Acronis User" but a giant step for "Acronis Developers" --- and finalize your combined "ATIH 2011 + ADD 11H" ISO.

Burn it on CD or extract it to a bootable USB-Stick.

Remarks: If you boot from that medium both programs will open up, windows are on top of each other! Do not close the program windows just minimize them and they will collapse to the lower left hand corner of the screen for further use!
Any help? Just post!

Good luck to you for the next “Waiting for Acronis”-Decade!

It's a lot easier to do it the other way round!
I have managed to build a combined WinPE 3.0 ISO with both DD 11 (Build 2121) & TI 2011 with Plus Pack, as follows:
(1) Install WAIK but don't bother to run _anything_ on it - no need to do any "copype" business or anything - & you don't have to mess with WIMs manually at all this way.
(2) Install DD 11, TI 2011, & then TI 2011 Plus Pack (obviously!).
[I did 1 & 2 with a Win7 virtual machine, but I think WAIK doesn't cause much mess, so it probably wouldn't hurt to do it on a standard installation.]
(3) Run the DD "Run Bootable Media Builder". As long as WAIK is installed, you can then choose "Bootable media type" as "Windows PE"; leave is set to "Create Windows PE2.x or 3.0 automatically"; "Next"...
(4) Wait as a command window opens and builds a WIM image. You then get to a dialog where you can add drivers. I haven't tried using this. Next .. & then choose "ISO image". Choose a name, => "Next" => "Proceed", & then have a long wait.
As before, just before "Proceed", the DD builder says it will add TI as well - but it doesn't. So we add it next:
(5) Extract all the files from the ISO into a new folder. (As I was using a virtual machine, I just copied the ISO file to the main machine, then mounted it in the virtual machine & copied out the files.) Don't worry about losing "bootability" - the next stage puts this back.
(6) Start the TI 2011 Plus Pack "Acronis WinPE ISO Builder". You then need to "Specify a path to the folder with the WinPE files" ... obviously you just specify the folder where you extracted the ISO files in (5).
(7) "Next" - leave it at "Add components and build an ISO" - then "Next", choose a name for your final ISO, "Next" => "Proceed" .. & hopefully there you are.
When you start a machine with the resulting ISO (& press a key when prompted), it should then (eventually) start a command window, then open DD & TI in turn. (You don't get a neat menu for them, as with the Linux versions.) But you can minimise or close either the DD or TI windows, & use the command window as needed, including to restart DD or TI if you need to.
I don't think you get OSS as well though!
HTH.
