well, my english is quiet bad... I try it...
I have TI 2011 and there it works. It works everywhere (TI, Office 2007/2003, Windows 7 systemtools, windows-explorer, ...) but not in DD11.
I don't understand what's "upperfilter" oder "lowerfilter". But in my opinion, if all other programs can use the external harddrive, so DD11 MUST work also with the hd.

TI 2011 will let you backup the partition on the encrypted drive?
Did you try booting to the DD CD to see if DD can see the encrypted drive? Or will this not even work because you can't enter the key if Windows isn't running?
The problem here could be that DD is trying to access the drive before it's recognized as a drive. However, I would think TI would access it at the same level since they use the same drivers.
Could you provide a screenshot of Disk Management and one of what TI shows for selecting the partition on the encrypted drive?
You may need to create a System Information Report using DD and submit it to Acronis so they can see what's going on.

TI 2011 show me the partition on the encrypted drive. And I also can make a backup, no problem.
The boot-CD of DD11/TI2010 can't see the partitions on the encrypted drive. It's not possible to enter the key (windows is necessary).
Screenshots attached.

and something more:
I didn't realise this bevor, but with the bood-cd (new made), DD11 doesn't find one of my internal SATA-HDD. TI2011 (with boot-cd) finds it.
unbelievable!
I don't know, why I bought DD11, that's pure sh.. :-(((

It appears that DD is using a different detection method for the drives than TI. Otherewise, they would both end up with the same results.
For the missing SATA drive, is it connected to the same SATA controller on the board as the drives that are detected? This problem is usually because of missing drivers in the Linux versions.

Hello MudCrab
Thanks for you answers! :-)
All internal HDDs are directly connected to the motherboard, no addon-card.
If DD11 use another method for detection, so it's a very very bad one! I buy a tool for spezial harddrive things and especialy this program doesn't recognice my harddrives. So, useless program.
I chated with acronis. They said, I've only support for 60day. Well, that's support...

David,
There wouldn't necessarily be an add-on card. A lot of current boards have two chipsets for the SATA ports. For example, there may be six on the Intel chipset and two on the JMicron chipset. If you have the drive that's not being detected connected to a different chipset than the drives that are being detected, the easiest solution may be to move to the one that's supported (assuming there is a free port). The ports may be different colors to tell them apart.
I will put in a request for Acronis Support to look at your problems. It would be helpful if you created the Acronis System Reports from TI and DD. Acronis will ask for them.

hello MudCrab
Thanks very much for your answers.
I've decided to take another programm. I don't have time to dry a lot of things, I did that some time ago with TrueImage.
It's very strange, but DD11 - a tool for harddrive to administrate the partitions and so on - is the only program, that doesn't recognize my external Harddisk AND one of my internal Harddisk.
I didn't look into my computer to check the chipset form my SATA-Ports. I'm not the "hardware-man" ;-)

Hello
I have tested some programs with the same functionality how DD11.
In every program - for example EASEUS Partition Master 7.0.1 Home Edition (and it's free!) - and EVERY program can recognize my external and ALL of my internal harddrives. I don't know what Acronis is doing.
Does anybody know how I can get my money back? For me, DD11 is useless...

Acronis does what it does when it comes to detecting drives and the method(s) used. I think part of the problem comes from them trying to block certain types of drives. Also, the drivers break very easily with anything new or different. Personally, I think they need to rethink the whole structure.
You would need to contact Acronis Support and request the refund.
