Disk Director 12 install issue

Thread needs solution

I just purchased Disk Director 12 upgrade. I'm attempting to install over an existing Disk Director 10 installation. The installer module unpacks and seems to begin to install. But after just a few seconds it reports install as incomplete and recommends a reboot. I did that but no difference. I'm running Windows 7 Pro (Fully Updated). I assume since I'm doing an upgrade that I need to leave my version 10 installed on the system. Any advice is appreciated. 

 

I've just been through a very long forum posting with my exact problem. In most cases the customer was left with only the option to request a refund. Am I faced with that ? I can't expend a lot of time trying to get Disk Director 12 to work for me - is this really one of those unsolvable issues ? I wouldn't  have spent the money if I'd known about this issue.

I'm really sorry to know that you've faced issues with update. I wouldn't say it's unsolvable, as we don't know for sure it's a bug without the more in-depth analysis. I'd suggest following the steps outlined in my comment here https://forum.acronis.com/comment/429412#comment-429412  this general procedure usually helps to overcome the minor glitches during update and I hope will be helpful in your case too. However, if the issue persists, I'd recommend raising a support ticket for investigation. 

Concerning the refund, you may request a full refund of your purchase from Acronis for any reason during the refund period applicable to your product type (30 days for Acronis Disk Director 12). The policy is published here https://kb.acronis.com/content/21242
