E000101F4 Disk Director Suite has not found any harddisk drives - SOLVED
I need to repartition the hard drive in my Toshiba L505D-S5983 laptop. It has a Toshiba MK3263GSX ATA Hard Disk Drive. When I boot with my Acronis CD selecting either Disk Director 10 or True Image 2010 it does not see the hard drive giving me the error message:
"E000101F4 Disk Director Suite has not found any harddisk drives"
I have searched through the Knowledge Base and see many messages referring to this error for True Image. How do I fix this to use Disk Director so that I can resize the partition to create a dual boot setup?
Thank you!
Dave

The boot CD contains no safe mode... It shows up several possibilities (acpi=off, no usb), but no safe mode! I'm just asking me why not?
So it seems that i have to install build 2241 on a XP machine to get the safe mode.

Safe mode boots and works properly.

Forellenblau:
When you create a boot CD using the Bootable Media Builder application you can choose which Acronis programs to include on the CD. To have Safe Mode, you have to select it when creating the CD.

K0LO,
Yes, i know that - from within the Windows-Software you can use the Bootable Media Builder and the integrate Safe Mode (i did it today).
But i'm expecting this functionality also in the provided iso which i can download in my account. In this iso there is no Safe Mode, so it's useless for me.

Sorry; I misunderstood. You are correct - the downloadable ISO contains only the Linux-based (Full mode) version of DD, but it is uses a different loader (based on ISOLinux) than the full mode version that you create with Bootable Media Builder. I don't know why Acronis does not also include the safe mode version in the downloadable ISO.
However, if the downloadable ISO does not support your hardware then you should contact Acronis Support using the "Support" link at the very top of this page. They may be able to add additional drivers to support your hardware.

Why is this problem solved ??
It is NOT solved !
In my case the programm works fine with all tested HDDs under Wn XP, but suddenly the fault comes and nothing goes anymore !
I have no HP Backup Software, GData is also not the problem, so what are the reasons for this fault ??
DD10 has to work with Win XP, and not ONLY work with bootable CD !!!
I encountered this problem also with oder versions !!
It is a shame that Acronis has NO DIRECT !! Online-Support or chat with technician as other companies as HP etc pp !!!!
In future I will not buy ANY products with NO DIRECT support. They can make the program some dollars or € more expensive to finance the support !
THE PROBLEMS TAKE TIME !
AND TIME YOU CANNOT PAY ! IT IS MOST !!! WORTH !!!

Hello all,
K0LO, thank you very much for the help.
Mathias, we are really sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced. I'll do everything possible to fix the issue.
Acronis Disk Director 10.0 is fully compatible with Windows XP, but in your case it seems that Acronis SnapAPI drivers become corrupted for some reasons and that fact caused the issue.
To resolve it, you need to update those drivers:
Please download the update at this link, install it, reboot your PC and check if the issue still persists.
Please also note that we do have a Live Chat that can be accessed on the support page.
Thank you.

In my case I try to change the partitions of a new Samsung Notebook. The CD I use contains Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.
Wether I start the standard program or something like safe mode - after "Loading, please wait" I get a message "E000101F4 - Acronis Disk Director Suite kat keine Festplatte gefunden" (...found no harddisc device...).
What can I do?

Hello Manfred,
Let me assist you.
Please try the following workaround:
- Boot the computer from Acronis Bootable Media (Full version);
- Hit F11 key after the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears and you get to the selection screen of the program;
- After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add "acpi=off noapic" parameter (without quotes) to the end of the Linux kernel command line (so it will be "quiet acpi=off noapic");
- Click OK button.
Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.
Thank you.

Hello Ilya,
it doesn't work this way.
The CD I use was made from Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 with the function "Rescue Media Builder".
When I boot the PC I get the message "Starting Acronis Loader..." (in German...). Hitting F11 at this time changes nothing - a GUI selection screen with 5 entries appears.
The selections are
- Acronis full version
- Safe mode
- Selector activator
- Selector setup
- Windows
No command line. And no "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt.
What's wrong here ?
Edit: after some further tests with F11 I finally got the command line, and added the option you wrote.
After that I select Acronis full version. After the message "Loading, please wait" I get a message "E000101F4 - Acronis Disk Director Suite kat keine Festplatte gefunden" (...found no harddisc device...) same as before.

Hello Manfred,
I've sent you an alternate media based on ISOLINUX bootloader (whereas the standard one is based on Acronis Loader) via Private Message. This new media is more up-to date and it should detect your hard drives correctly.
If it still doesn't detects your hard drives, please collect Acronis Report and attach it to your reply to this thread.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
