Impossible to shrink partition : "Invalid Format" error on reboot

Thread needs solution

Good morning

I cannot shrink my C: partition from 140 Gb to 110 Gb. On reboot, the system shows "invalid format" error, and the partition is not shrunk.

C: partition was once secured with bitlocker, but it is no longer active on this disk.

I have Vista Integral SP2 on a Lenovo T61p laptop

Any idea? Thanks for your help

Hubert:

Try the operation from the recovery CD. If you haven't made one yet, go to the "Tools" menu and look for Bootable Media Builder. Create a bootable CD and boot your laptop from it.

With Vista (and Windows 7), any partitioning operation that affects the system partition should always be done when Windows is not running. Otherwise, it is likely to fail.

Hello Hubert,

Were you able to shrink the partition? If you still need an assistance, please download Acronis Report utility and run it, create a report and attach to your post.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
