Install a Dual Boot-System for Win7 as Standard and WinXP sometimes

Thread needs solution

I'm a beginner, so please give me suggestion. I've two physicle disks, the first with System C:(primär Partition) and one Data Partition D:(logic) The second as DataPatition primär E: I've a full image-save from the XP-Partition C: with TrueImageHome2010 before I changed from WinXP to Win7 (new installed) in C: Now I see, I need the XP-Installation too and I want to have Win7 as First-Boot, and XP, when it will be used sometimes.
Whats to do? First create a new primär partition with DD11. What's better, on the first Disk as a 2. primär Partition (so that there are 1. primär Win7, 2. primär XP an 3. logig Data or on the second physicle Disk
which contains one primär Partition with data, change to a logig Partition and create 1 primär Parition for WinXP.
If the primär Partition is created, can I move the System-Image XP (saved from C: before) with True Image to this new Partition?
If this is possible and done what' next? As Standard shall boot Win7 (C:), Sometimes, I want to select
boot with XP. Now in BIOS is the first Boot Device CD/DVD, the second Harddisk and the third CD/DVD
I' ve read, when I install OS-Selector with DD11, OS-Selector will find the installed Systems.
Must I use OS-Selector and what is necessary to do or is there a simple other answer to boot sometimes with XP. I've written a lot of things, but sorry, I'm a beginner and did never changes in Partitions,
only save and recovery the System to the same patition. So I don't want to make mistakes and kill my system. Thank you very much for help (sorry for my bad english)Bernie

You could do it either way: Add XP to the first drive or add XP to the second drive. It would depend on how you want your system configured.

If you don't want to use OSS or merge XP's booting into the Windows 7 BCD, you could restore XP to the second drive (in the new Active/Primary partition you create for it) and then use the BIOS Boot Menu to select which drive to boot.

Otherwise, you could use OSS or the Windows 7 Boot Manager to boot XP from either drive, though keeping XP on the main (booting) drive is often less problematic.

Do you have any use preferences? Do you plan to boot into both XP and Windows 7 frequently or only use XP occasionally?

In that case, you may find it easier to just use the BIOS to select which drive to boot. Do you know if your computer has a BIOS Boot Menu key you can press when starting the computer (for example, F8, F11, F12, etc.)? This would allow you to select the drive without needing to enter the BIOS or change the default (booting the Windows 7 drive).
