Maximum Drive Size That Disk Director Can Use?

Thread needs solution

For the last three major releases of Disk Director, I would like to document what is the largest drive size that the release can work with IF you boot from the Disk Director CD not the Windows OS.

Windows XP has a limit of 2TB drives/partitions and if you attempt to use a 3TB drive that won't be seen properly by Windows XP. What I was hoping was to find a way to use a 3TB drive as a 2TB MBR partition under Windows XP, but then use the bootable Disk Director CD to store mirror images of my boot device and other partitions in the area of the drive between 2TB and 3TB.

For this to work, Disk Director's boot CD would probably need to be a Unix OS instead of based on Windows. I'm guessing that the Disk Director CD boots from some Microsoft Windows OS, so probably it suffers from a similar limitation on MBR drives being up to 2TB.

I don't want to deal with the complexity of loading proprietary device drivers to make Windows work with GPT disks. I'm trying to maximize backup storage space on a 3TB drive using native Windows XP environment.

What's possible with the last three releases of Disk Director?
