Starting Acronis Loader

Thread needs solution

When I boot my computer now I get this.....
Starting Acronis Loader...
Press ESC for menu...
Press F6 to skip menu...
Unable to execute program. Press to proceed...

And, of course, I get the same message again when I press

Q. How to make the loader work as it did or just get rid of it. I simply want to boot the drive and get to my data!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is
Larsen.Scott@sbcglobal.net

Thank you.

Boot to the DD CD and reactivate or reinstall OSS. Note that this requires the OSS programs to be on the CD. If you're using DD 11, you can download the DD ISO file from your account and create a CD that includes them. I don't think the DD 10 download includes the OSS programs (you would need to create a CD using DD).

Another option is to deactivate or uninstall OSS by using the DD CD or by replacing the MBR with standard code. This can be done using the Windows installation CD/DVD or by other methods.

If you need more help with this, let us know the version and build of DD as well as the version of Windows being used.

Thank you for relating to my question. However, as much as I would like to deactivate or uninstall OSS using the DD CD, when I boot to the DD v.10 CD I see no way to do it. There are no such options! I get the option of using an automatic mode or a manual mode, neither of which give options to do anything with the OSS. So. I replaced the MBR (fixmbr from the command prompt) obtained by using the Windows XP installation disk. And, all is well.

Again, thanks for your help.

When creating the DD 10 CD you need to select to include the OSS programs if you want them on the CD. Most people tend not to do this and then have problems when OSS needs reactivated or modified.
