Hello Thierry,

Thank you for your posting! Could you please clarify, do you install the software for the first time or it's an upgrade? Do you have other Acronis products on the same machine? I would recommend the following steps:

1. Check if there are entries in Control panel -> Programs and Features, if yes please click on uninstall;

2. Clean up the %temp% folder and reboot your PC;

3. Make sure your installation file was not corrupted during the download. If the installation file is ok, re-attempt the installation. If possible temporary disable anti-virus.

Thank you,

Os = Windows 10 Pro 64 bits, version 1511 (10586.164)

It was an upgrade from ADD12_3223.

Other Acronis prodcuts running = Disk Monitor, Backup 11.7

No entries in Programs

%temp% cleaned

File not corrupted "ADD12_3270_fr-FR.exe", signature is verified

Same problem trying to install !

Hello Thierry,

I would suggest you to uninstall the previous build of Acronis Disk Director 12, restart the computer and then attempt to install build 3270 again.

If the issue persists, you can submit a ticket at http://www.acronis.com/support/ to get further assistance. If you will pay a suport fee (http://www.acronis.com/en-eu/support/ppi.html) and our investigation will show that there is a problem with the program itself, the fee will be refunded.

Regards,

Slava

Hello,

I have had the same problem (on Win 7 Home 64 bits French) when updating from DD12 B3223 to DD12 B3270.

The uninstall of DD12 B3223, with Control Panel, and re-install of DD12 B3270 solves the problem.

But I have an another problem : error when creating a bootable media (error E0018000B, ti_boot.so), I will make an other post for this.

Old user of Acronis, since DD10 and TI11, it seems to me that this DD12  B3270 version is not properly tested.

When an updated OSS program will be back ?

Regards

I too have been unable to reinstal DD12. A fresh download from ATI account successfully installed DD12. Suspect that using the ATIH cleanup tool corrupted the DD12 software I had stored on my PC so it would hang just about the point of installing and task manager was the only way to close it down. I suspect that files in %temp% were also problematic but ATIH has a good cleanup facility which together with restarts gets rid of all the files.

Pacaud, you can always download pre-made ISO image of Acronis Disk Director 12 from your account and then burn it to an optical disc. See https://kb.acronis.com/getmedia.

xyzbird, yes, Acronis True Image cleanup tool definitively corruptes Acronis Disk Director installation. Both versions of cleanup tool (https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 and https://kb.acronis.com/content/34876) have the following warning:

(!) If you have other Acronis products installed, the utility will damage their installation.

Regards,

Slava

Slava you misread what I said. Deploying the Acronis clean up tool indeed disrupts other Acronis installations but in my case it corrupted my stored DD12 installation software so I had to get a fresh one from my account.

xyzbird, thank you for the clarification. If you are referring to the installation file (package), then it could not be affected by the cleanup tool. Cleanup tool does not touch installation files at all. Nowhere in cleanup`s list of actions it is said to look up and access installation files themselves. I would recommend you checking the disk volume where the Disk Director 12 installer was residing. It is possible that file system got corrupted there and as a result, installation file could not be launched correctly.

Regards,

Slava

Thanks Slava. I can only recount what happened and as I said the only way to get DD12 back up and running was to delete the installation software I had stored and successfully used before, and acquire another copy from my account.

Following the necessity to perform an Acronis cleanup which removes all Acronis products, I could not get DD12 to install no matter what I tried until I reinstalled ATI2016. So now it appears that ATI2016 needs to be up and running to enable DD12 to be installed - well at least in my case.

I have exactly the same problem. ADD12 won't install clean, after uninstalling ATI2016 and running the Acronis cleanup tool.

Did anyone solved this without having to install ATI2016 upfront?

ACRONIS: Your ADD12 installation seems to rely on some ATI2016 resources and won't install standalone on its own. This is inappropriate behavior.

Please advise.

Hello Willy,

Acronis Disk Direktor 12 can definitely be installed without Acronis True Image and moreover the recommended way to install these products on the same machine would be to install Acronis Disk Direktor 12 first, since the latest builds of Acronis True Image have more up-to-date driver versions. Have you tried to uninstall the product using Microsoft FixIt Tool, as described in the following article? Could you please attach the installation log to your post.

Thank you,

Thank you,

After cleaning up misc Acronis leftovers with RevoUninstall and SlimCleaner I eventually managed to install DD12. However, the installation ran for about 40 minutes (!) for some unknown reason. Luckily, I decided to let it run as long as the process status was "running" and I didn't terminate the installation which normally would have been the common sense response when an installation doesn't seem to do anything (no disk activity or CPU usage) for such a long time. It did eventually continue and after another "slow part" of about 7 minutes it completed successfully. Lucky me.

I don't know what DD12's problem was (I never got any warnings or other messages) but it wasn't what I would call a normal installation behavior. I don't have time to further debugging this behavior or investigating what was wrong. DD12 is installed now and I'm done with it.

Regarding your MS FixIt suggestion etc. I'd like to mention that there's nothing wrong with my system (thoroughly tested) and there are no other programs, utilities or drivers having problems with it whatsoever. Only DD12.
