volumes errors

Thread needs solution

Hello.
I have 2 disks and use 3 bootable partitions having Windows XP SP2. When I want to resize certain volumes from Disk0 an error spawns at the bottom of the resize window saying to check out the log. The log says that it's unable to read the partition or similar messages. It's a WD 10EARS Caviar Green (1TB). All partitions are aligned with Acronis WD Align. Now here's the deal: before aligning all partitions were visible from within PowerQuest PartitionMagic and all were working fine. After alignment PQPM saw the disk as a wholel yellow BAD so I moved to Acronis Disk Director 11 as I found fit I'd stick to the same make. On the disk I left an unpartitioned space from the start. After unsuccessfully trying to resize/move some partitions I said I'd fill the empty space with a new partition. It worked up to the finish with 2 green progress bars when all of a sudden they turned red and gave an error directing me to chkdsk. When I restarted ADD it said "failed to obtain actual information about the disk sub system" in the bottom and "There are no items to show in this view" on top of the window.
I ran chkdsk with /f /v /r parameters for each of almost all partitions (took a couple of good hours) and it fixed some minor things. After that I reran the ADD and this time the disks showed up and I retried to resize the partitions but got the same first errors that I mentioned. I tried again to create a partition in the empty space and I can't see any disk at this moment.
I can't quote the errors because I have to rerun chkdsk...
Has it happened to anyone? Maybe you know a solution for this anyway. A suggestion. Maybe fixmbr from Windows cd?

In your case we need some additional information to investigate the issue and to provide you with a solution, so could you please do the following?

  1. Register your copy of Acronis Disk Director;
  2. Collect AcronisInfo tool output;
  3. Submit a request to support with the gathered information or use our Live Chat system.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

I'm using a demo version of DD 11. But I don't think this is a problem. I learned later about the 100 MB limitation but none of my partitions is that small and still some give the error and some don't. Anyway, I appreciate your willing to help. I got it fixed eventually in a particular way not having to do with DD...
