Acronis Snap Deploy 5 upgrade

Thread needs solution

I have just started working in a new company. I noticed that it has for some time been unused Acronis Snap Deploy 5 v1656 with server and computers assigned to it as well as free licenses. I plan to start using it again but I also want to use it with Windows Server 2016. For this purpose I should have version 1749.

1) Is the upgrade from version 1656 to 1749 free? Do I have to buy an upgrade license or a new product?

2) If upgrading to version 1749 is free, where can I download files for update? Can I use the trial version installer to update it (http://download.acronis.com/ASD5_trial_en-US.exe)?

3) On Acronis Snap Deploy 5 License Server I have a lot of assigned and free (not assigned to server or computers) licenses. How should I update to keep them? Should I export them somehow and reinstall after the update?

Hello kukucz,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

1. Both builds refer to the same version Acronis Snap Deploy 5, so basically it's an update within the same version and yes, you don't need to pay anything for it.

2. You can use the following link http://dl2.acronis.com/s/ASD5_1749_en-US.exe  Just download the installation file and install over your existing installation. Make sure, all components have been updated to the same build - it might be necessary to upload new bootable components to the PXE server if you are using PXE in your environment.

Note: you can always download the latest installation file from Acronis account at acronis.com, where the license keys are registered. How to register Acronis software

3. Keep it as it is, the update won't affect the status of the license keys.

Thank you,

I had been using the 1666 revision for our new HP computers and has been working fine with laptops with Intel I219 NIC.

We had just purchased some new desktop HP Prodesk 600 G3 SFF Pc's.  Even though it has the same Intel I219 NIC it will not PXE Boot to pull the image.

I tried revision 1749, the image loads fine but it does not shutdown the computer after the image is loaded even though the setting is for it to shutdown the machine after loading the image. It just loops.  Is there another revision available out there that works properly?

Hi,

1749 is the latest official build.

Looks like Agent crashes after deployment. To investigate the issue, some technical information needs to be collected from the Agent. Please contact our support team to get this issue resolved.

Another option would be testing a WinPE-based bootable component, that has better compatibility with various types of hardware. See Uploading a PE image to Acronis PXE Server.

Thank you,
