Acronis Universal Deploy
Hello.
I've been using Acronis Snap Deploy 3 for some time now and I am very happy with it. Now I am going to take it one step further and start using Acronis Universal Deploy as well. With regards to this I got some questions about Acronis Universal Deploy.
I do understand the base principles of how it works, but I am confused by what drivers that are actually needed. The manual says HAL drivers. What are they excatly? Is it the chipset drivers? We are primarily using Fujitsu Siemens computers and the Chipset drivers that they provide is not in the .inf or .sys form that I've seen suggested on this forum. They are in fact .exe files. Is it also neccesary to supply the storage drivers, such as SATA drivers?
The Fujitsu Siemens Celsius M460 (with Windows Vista 64bit) is a model we are using quite a lot of. Would it be possible for you to tell me which drivers I would have to download from their support site http://ts.fujitsu.com/support/downloads.html ? If so, select Workstations, Celsius, Celsius M Series and M460 on that page to get to the correct drivers.
Kind Regards,
Nils Rune

I've been in contact with Fujitsu Siemens support and I thought I'd share their answer with you.
After downloading the driver *.exe file, rename it to *.zip or *.rar and then extract. You'll then find the *.inf and *.oem in the extracted folder.

Dear Nils!
Thank you for your comment and for keeping us posted! This information is very useful and I'm sure it will be highly helpful for other Forum members who can visit this thread.
I assume you've successfully deployed the target machines since you don't report any issues. Anyway should you have any questions or concerns - please, let me know, I will be glad to help.
Thank you once again for cooperation and your comment!

Hi again.
It's quite difficult to use Acronis Universal Deploy, because most driver files aren't extractable even when renaming to zip/rar. Both Fujitsu Siemens and Dell say that they only support the drivers in the way they are presented at their website.
Is there any way to work around this?
