Customize USB key

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to customize an USB key with acronis Snap Deploy 4 agent in order to set a static IP address ? (I don't have a DHCP serveur ...)

Actually, I need to configure manually the network when I boot on the Agent, I would like to set the IP in a configuration file or in other place into the USB key ...

I try to play replacing the option "quiet" to "quiet ip=x.x.x.x" into the bootwiz.cfg file but no success (same failed when I try to use F11 key when booting on the key).

I have several computers to manage, so a customized key for each computer will be a good solution (I would prefer DHCP server ... but I don't decide for that !!).

Thanks for your feedback.

Regards.

Mickael.

Hello Mickael Thierry,

Thank you for using Acronis software. I am happy to assist you.

You need not to modify the USB stick. You can define the static IP address in deployment template on your Acronis Deployment Server. The boot agent on USB stick is only for booting the agent to get connected to Acronis Deployment Server.

See Acronis Snap Deploy 4.

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your feedback.
I think that there is a misunderstood : I know that I can specify the static IP address in deployment template, but the thing I would like to do is when I use the USB key in order to connect to Acronis Deployment Server, I would like that the IP address of the client side be static automaticaly.

Today if I boot to the usb key, the client try to get an ip address from DHCP but if there is no DHCP the client get a default address (169.xxx.xxx.xxx).
I know that I can configure the address manualy just before access to the deployment server, but I would like to do it automatically (store on the USB key ?)

Hope you understand my request now !!

Regards,

Mickael.

Hello Mickael Thierry,

Thank you for your reply.

You are right. I was misunderstanding the situation. If no DHCP Server is available, then you need to create a WinPE bootable media. There you can define your network settings, as necessary. But the settings you have to define in WinPE media itself, not in Acronis Plug-In.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
