New laptops cannot boot to Acronis Snap Deploy PXE?

Thread needs solution

I've been using this install of Acronis for about 3 years now. We just received about 35 new laptops in and I'm suprised not one of them can boot to the PXE server so I can create an image of them.

It all started when we received the first 30. When I tried to make an image of one of the Lenovo laptops, I got the error and just assumed the Lenovo or particular model laptop must not be compatible. So, I spent a week building all 30 by hand.

Well I just received 5 HPs and they're having the same exact problem. To make sure it isn't a system-wide problem, I just went down to a lab and booted up a PC and was able to boot to the PXE server with no problem.

I'm attaching a screen shot of the output I get on both the Lenovo and the HP laptops.

It seems to me like it has to be a problem with the BIOS. With the Lenovos, I saw the output about USB and so I thought I'd try disabling USB in the BIOS. It didn't work. I just tried setting the BIOS to default and didn't help either.

I've looked through the server's event viewer and see no acronis or pxe errors. I looked in

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\FileServer\Logs
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\PXEServer\Logs

Neither location has any recent logs that look even remotely like a PXE error log. So, I really have nothing to go on other than what the screen shows while booting.

Hello David,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to help you.

To resolve this issue please make sure that you are using the latest build and that all the bootable components are updated including the PXE Server components. If you are still having this issue please contact our Support team with this report so that we can investigate and resolve this issue.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

Installing the latest build fixed it. Thank You! I had no idea we were entitled to free upgrades. I thought any upgrade would cost money.

Hi David,

Thank you getting back to me and I am very happy that the program is working for you.

I'd like to explain the difference between an update and an upgrade in case someone else from our forum community would like to know.

An update is a new build of the same product version whereas an upgrade is a completely different version. Just in case, this article has additional information.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
