WIN 7 image

Thread needs solution

SNAP deploy WIN7 image (basic w/o drivers) will not load on different hardware. Created image of WIN7 64bit on Intel DH64DL motherboard. No drivers loaded, Image load on different hardware but WIN7 goes to repair mode.

I am having a simular issue on 64x machines. If they are the same model machines it works but if I take that image to a different model machine it wont load windows.

Very frustrated about it.

You need to have the Universal Deploy option to image to dissimilar equipment. It is an extra charge but well worth it!

i mean i could very well not have things configured correctly at the same time...

not sure.

It's possible that you may have to load chipset drivers for it before it is deployed. Are you receiving any errors?

at first I was getting BOOTMGR.EXE was not found. I did a repair on windows and now it just cycles thru the windows start up and never actually loads windows.

If your master image was a 32-bit image and you are attempting to deploy to a 64-bit image, I would say that you probably need to load your chipset drivers in order for it to work. Worse comes to worse...build your 64-bit image from scratch and then make your master image from it.

Have you contacted Acronis support?

yes i have they are looking into it..

and yes I have multiple images.. the company I work for has 2 different domains so I have been trying to get baseline images for each domain with XP 32 bit and XP 64bit and then again Win 7 32bit and Win 7 64bit.

by the time I am done I should have a total of 8 baseline images that I could deploy at any moment but as I said so far I have found if the hardware is different from the model I used to take the baseline it just wont work.
